Donald Justice (born within Miami, Florida, August 12, 1925 - died in Iowa City, Iowa, August 6, 2004) was an American poet and teacher of writing. He was for numerous years on the faculty of the Iowa Writers' Workshop, the united states's leading postgraduate program within originative writing. He besides taught at Syracuse University, a University of California at Irvine, Princeton University, a University of Virginia, & a University of Florida inside Gainesville.

Justice was andy skinner of x books of poetry. A number 1 book, A Summer Anniversaries, was a winner of the Lamont Award inside 1961; Selected Poems won a Pulitzer Prize in 1980. He was awarded a Bollingen Prize inside Poetry withinside 1991, & a Lannan Literary Award in 1996.

His honors as well involved grants from either a Guggenheim Foundation, a Rockefeller Foundation, and a National Endowment for the Arts. He was the member of the American Academy of Arts and Letters, and the Chancellor of the Academy of Western Poets from either 1997 to 2003. His Collected Poems was nominated for the National Book Award in 2004. Justice was too the National Book Award Finalist inside 1961, 1974, & 1995.
